I have a little dilemma at the moment. I have always had a love for teeny lil OffRoaders .. and I use the term "Offroader" lightly
One of those diet-roaders that I have had a slight fetish for is the Mitsubishi Pajero Jr. Its a slightly larger version of the Pajero Mini kei car. It has a gargantuan 1.1 litre engine , 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel ABS, low range box , interior space that makes a Cygnet seem like a cathedral and most importantly a cute little face.
For the past year I have been looking at the used market seeing whats available and today I found and test drove two. Both are under 1,800 euros, both have under 70,000 miles , both are in exceptional condition and I now don't know where to go from here.
One is a Blue 1998 model with a automatic gearbox
One is a Silver 1997 model with a 5 speed (the silver jr has spots , but they are in the trunk detached)
Im so torn , I have to make a decision by Saturday.

Is the autobox a 4 speed? I'm thinking silver one. I like the look better and the rack on top. Plus 5 speed!

I think it is ! I have my doubts about the auto , since I have always had manuals. The blue one is just so incredibly clean inside and out , no marks anywhere.
I will be driving it in a city ... so not sure how long that will last .

I call it a real off-roader. Cars that small and nimble can accomplish quite a lot off-road. A short wheel base like that is hugely beneficial.
Personally, I would go for the manual one. I also like that it has a rack on top.

Yeah the silver might be better for you then. Won't have to worry about it so much.
I've never even heard of this car before your post though. Neat little thing!

I only we could get these in the states...
And I'd go with the silver one, because 5-speed and you don't have to worry (as much) about it getting a ding while in the city.

I think I may. I am still a little dubious about the auto and of course the silver one has roof bars. Thats just awesome

It has the perfect design and wheel base for going offroad its just the lack of power and torque that is an issue. It can do pretty well from videos I have seen online , but coming from a family with Landrover Defenders... It is a little wheezy when it gets rough.
